Auchterarder is a pleasant country town located north of the Ochil Hills in Perthshire and home to the world renowned Gleneagles Hotel and its championship golf courses, which are only a mile away. It is approximately 1 hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh and is in the gateway to the Highlands.
The mile and a half long High Street of Auchterarder gave the town its popular name of the "Lang Toon" and offers a good range of locally-owned shops, restaurants and pubs, situated in one of the more prestigious area of Perthshire and only 1 mile from the renowned Gleneagles Hotel, famous for its quality championship golf courses - you can find many activities in and out of town.
Historians will be enthralled by this area and will be fascinated by Innerpeffray library, the oldest surviving public library in Scotland!
A car is recommended to explore the local area although public transport is available. Local activities in and around Auchterarder, too many to include - for golfers - the afore mentioned Gleneagles Hotel, St Andrews and Carnoustie are a short distance away. Centrally situated for Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling or Perth. Strathallan Airfield, Scone Palace, Stirling Castle, City Sightseeing, Whisky Distilleries (free adult pass for two to Tullibardine Distillery, in nearby Blackford available on your arrival), Lochs, Mountains, Gardens, Fishing and Shooting.
About the property …
The property is located within a 10-15 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive from the town centre and was modernised in Autumn 2009 in a warm homely style with sleeping accommodation for 5 people. It is fully equipped with everything you should need like a safe, an iron and ironing board, hairdryer, alarm clock, clothes line/airer etc.
It has a fitted kitchen/dining room (seats 6) with microwave, hob & eye level oven, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, American style fridge-freezer.
The living area has seating for 7 people, a flat screen TV with freeview and DVD player. The main bathroom has bath and electric shower and ensuite has shower cabinet with electric shower.
There are 3 bedrooms all with fitted warerobes with ample handing space for clothing. 2 double rooms - 1 with double bed, the other with twin beds (ensuite shower room), and a single room with one bed.
Monoblock driveway with off road parking for 3 vehicles and private enclosed garden at the rear.
Rates …
The price includes Gas, Electricity and a Welcome food pack. We may consider longer lettings (ie. 1-2 months) A deposit of 25% to be paid at time of booking, balance to be paid 4 weeks prior arrival. Bed linen and towels are changed once a week, as well as cleaning of the property.
Minimum stay is 1 week, from 2pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on day of departure (unless alternative agreement made).
